Early insights from our current ‘COVID-19 impact on volunteering’ survey reveal many organisations are still operating with limited volunteer capacity.
- To date, 60% of organisations reported that their volunteer programs are only partially operational, with 12% still not operational.
- A third of organisations are not confident that they will achieve pre-COVID levels of volunteering activity in the next six months.
- At the same time, over 40% of organisations reported experiencing an increase in demand for services and over half (53%) saying they need more volunteers.
The survey remains open until 5.30pm (AEDT) Friday 22 January 2021, and we encourage organisations to complete the survey to help ensure our advocacy work is based on as robust data as possible.
For those who have already completed the survey, thank you for helping us capture the COVID-19 impact on volunteering in Australia.
The data collected will be used by Volunteering Australia to inform advocacy, respond to national inquiries and share across the sector to help inform practice. We look forward to presenting our full analysis in February.
