Our Better Together story this week highlights the critical role volunteers play in charities with more than 49,000 charities in Australia changing communities for the better.
The Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission’s 8th Annual Charities Report found that volunteering remains vital to the charity sector, with charities reporting that 3.4 million volunteers helped deliver services in the 2020 reporting period.
Impressively, about half of all charities reported operating without paid staff. This illustrates the importance of volunteers to the work of charities and to communities across the country.
We encourage you to support the work of charities by volunteering your time and helping to create a better society for everyone.
