On Remembrance Day, we highlight the important role that volunteers play in the delivery of key programs, supports and services to enable veterans and their families to thrive despite adversity.
Legacy is one of these important services and supports 43,000 partners and children of veterans who gave their lives or health serving our country. Legacy strives to ensure these families can realise their potential.
There are over 3,600 volunteers known as Legatees who are drawn from all walks of life who come together to make a difference to the lives of veterans’ families across Australia. Some of these volunteers have served Legacy for more than 50 years!
As we pause today to remember those who have served our nation, we also think of the families left behind. We thank Legacy and its volunteers for their vital work in ensuring these families are supported.
