Meet Terry, a volunteer at St Mary’s Senior Football & Netball Club, sharing their journey as part of our ‘Share Your Story’ Series.
Incredible Community and Family Legacy
“It’s the incredible people within the community. I love seeing my kids, and now my grandkids, grow, develop friendships, and thrive within the supportive club environment. My own journey began in 1992 to support my sons’ involvement in football. Now, decades later, I’m down at Auskick every week with my grandson at the same club. It’s been a full circle moment; without volunteers, my grandsons wouldn’t have this opportunity to enjoy footy in the same supportive environment.”
The Importance of Community in Volunteering
“Volunteering isn’t just about giving back; it’s about being part of a community. The friendships formed through volunteering are invaluable. Not just for you, but for your family; it’s another space and opportunity for your kids to make friends, learn new skills, and grow.”
Enriching Lives Through Volunteering
“By getting involved, you’re not only enriching the lives of your family, but also others and future generations to come.”
