“The efforts of Australia’s than 6 million volunteers, in almost every endeavour imaginable, improve our local communities, our society and, collectively, our nation.
“The value can, at least in part, be quantified – an estimated annual contribution of $290 billion to our economic and social good – but numbers alone do not capture fully what volunteers mean to Australia.
“Volunteers exemplify the richness of spirit to which we should aspire and that makes our nation the place it is. I am proud to be Patron of Volunteering Australia. Your advocacy, leadership and support of volunteering are critical.”
