As a membership organisation, Volunteering Australia draws on the expertise of our members and partners to inform policy submissions and strengthen the impact of our advocacy work.
Membership Categories
Foundation Membership
Volunteering Australia’s Foundation Members are the seven State and Territory volunteering peak bodies. VA and the Foundation Members work in partnership to lead, strengthen, promote and celebrate volunteering and civic participation in Australia.
Details of each State and Territory volunteering peak body can be found on our contact us page.
Associate Membership
Associate Members are organisations or individuals who are current members of their State or Territory volunteering peak body.
Benefits of Associate Membership include that an Associate Member can raise any issues of national significance via their State or Territory peak body to:
- influence the national policy agenda on volunteering,
- support the work of the Volunteering Australia by participating in local advocacy,
- receive policy analysis and stay up to date with our national volunteering advocacy work,
- receive notice, attend and speak at general meetings of Volunteering Australia, except in relation to matters which are subject to reserved voting rights.
As a Member of a State or Territory peak body you automatically become an Associate Member of Volunteering Australia, unless you opt out. Associate Members are not required to pay any additional fees or contribute any costs and expenses in relation to Volunteering Australia.
Please note Associate Members do not have voting rights at general meetings of Volunteering Australia.
