Volunteering Australia proudly supports International Volunteer Day (IVD), raising awareness of the important role volunteers play in responding to challenges facing the world.
Today we celebrate and thank the millions of volunteers who are supporting their communities around Australia. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, volunteers have been at the forefront of services and community organisations, many of which could not survive without the vital contribution of volunteers.
To help you celebrate volunteers this International Volunteer Day, we have resources for social media and newsletters, and online certificates of appreciation to send to a volunteer.
The IVD campaign this year, Volunteer now for our common future, aims to inspire people, whether they are decision makers or citizens of this world, to take action NOW for people and the planet.
When people are encouraged to get involved in solving problems, the solutions are more likely to be feasible and lasting. Volunteers engage communities and build a people-centric movement to help build a better and safer future for us all.
