All this week we have been celebrating the profession of volunteer leadership and we encourage you to join us in thanking Managers and Coordinators of Volunteers this International Volunteer Managers Day.
The National Strategy for Volunteering Discovery Insights Report found that Managers and Coordinators of Volunteers are the lynchpin of effective and impactful volunteer involvement, but the profession is under-recognised, under-valued, and under-resourced.
There is an opportunity to recognise volunteer management as a profession, and the National Strategy for Volunteering can re-position it as a critical centrepiece of the volunteering ecosystem.
Volunteering Australia will continue to advocate for greater support and recognition within organisations and from governments on the importance of Volunteer Managers.
A special thank you to all Managers and Coordinators of Volunteers for your contribution to volunteering in Australia. You are appreciated and valued and make volunteering better for all.
