This week we advocated for World MentalHealth Day and to “Look after your mental health, Australia.”
This year the campaign for Mental Health focusseson Awareness, Belonging and Connection which encourages all Australians to look after their mental health. Prioritising mental health and wellbeing continues to be more important than ever. It’s essential to find what works for you; to feel connected and maintain your wellbeing; to look after yourself and those around you.
We are firm believers in volunteering improving mental health and wellbeing. Evidence suggests that giving support to others is a particularly beneficial form of social connection. Volunteering has
been found to improve wellbeing, self-esteem, happiness, and satisfaction with life.
As Mark, CEO of Volunteering Australia expresses in this video “Our best friend is our compassion.’’
Volunteering Australia is proud to again partner with Mental Health Australia and thank them for putting this video together along with a powerful campaign.
For #WMHD2022, register for “Mindful habits for mental health” and take time out for your
