About the Artwork
This year’s artwork embodies the theme “Connecting Communities” for National Volunteer Week 2025, celebrating the powerful role of volunteering in building meaningful relationships that enrich lives and strengthen communities.
Interconnected circles and vibrant colours symbolise diversity, unity, and the collective energy of volunteers. Each circle represents an individual, community, or organisation while the lines weaving them together highlight the relationships formed through volunteering – connections that create belonging, foster collaboration, and support thriving, inclusive communities.
The design balances playfulness with structure, reflecting how volunteering is both organic and purposeful. Bold, dynamic colours represent the vibrancy of the volunteering ecosystem, while the neutral background allows these elements to stand out, emphasising their significance.
This artwork serves as a reminder that when we willingly give our time, energy and skills to others, we strengthen the bonds that hold our communities together. It invites everyone to celebrate the connections built through volunteering and recognise the lasting impact these relationships have in creating a more engaged, inclusive, and connected society.
