Overview of the project
The Volunteer Management Online Project has developed the Volunteering Gateway – a single, centralised launch pad to a curated selection of national tools and resources that support volunteer involving organisations to recruit, train, manage and retain volunteers.
The project envisions a thriving volunteering ecosystem where an online platform empowers organisations and individuals to connect, manage, and enhance the volunteering experience.
The project, funded by the Australian Government, aims to:
- help reduce duplication across various existing online and digital services and provide a more streamlined experience across Australia.
- assist volunteer involving organisations to increase the number and diversity of volunteers, improve attraction and retention strategies, build capability and capacity.
- help make volunteering easier to do and manage.
To achieve these goals, the Volunteering Gateway employs a user-centred design approach, actively engaging people that manage volunteers and volunteer involving organisations in the design, development, and iterations of the online platform. An iterative and agile approach ensures the platform remains relevant and effective in meeting the dynamic needs of the volunteering ecosystem.
What’s Next?
We’re committed to continuous improvement and will be making ongoing enhancements to the platform throughout 2024 and 2025. Your input remains crucial to this process, so please continue sharing your ideas for how we can make the Volunteering Gateway even better.
