Meet Sam, a volunteer at Woodford Folk Festival sharing their story as part of our ‘Share Your Story’ Series.
Contributing to the Live Music Industry
“I feel inspired to volunteer with large music festival events like Woodford so that I can feel like I’m contributing to Australia’s struggling live music industry. All Australians engage and benefit from the arts, and these kinds of events are so important to the fabric of our culture. But they would simply not be able to operate without volunteers.”
The Excitement of Events
“It’s so exciting to take part in such a complex event that requires so much planning, organisation, and a huge amount of hard work from dedicated individuals. It’s so rewarding to give time to something you are passionate about.”
Connecting with Like-minded People
“If you are able to volunteer for a cause that you believe in, then it often doesn’t even feel like work. Being able to connect with like-minded people while volunteering is another positive by-product.”
